Margate's top five spots!

 

First thing to do is breathe in our great air, then rush down to the sea, get the sand between your toes, then pick up an ice cream or bag of hot doughnuts to help you on your way along the seafront towards the town centre. If you don’t know where you’re going, ask us – we’re very friendly!

  1. Theatre Royal Margate (of course!)
  2. Margate Joke Shop, near Dreamland – a great place to get old-fashioned treats for the kids
  3. Pauline’s Café – my favourite caff in Margate, at the top of the High Street – great value!
  4. Greedy Cow deli in the Old Town – ok, so it’s another great place to eat, surrounded by cool shops too
  5. R. G. Scott’s Furniture Mart, Bath Place – tucked away, but if you like bargain hunting this is a treasure trove

  1. Walpole Bay, Cliftonville for the best cream tea in Kent
  2. Primart, High Street - fab for bargains!
  3. The Gate, Margate Old Town - perfect place to pick up a 'one off' present
  4. Eating chips from Pete's Fish Factory and seeing the sun go down
  5. Shell Grotto - aways amazes me!
